Rudra Suktam
(रूद्र सूक्तं/Rudra Suktam)
ॐ नमस्ते रुद्र मन्यव उतो त इषवे नमः।
बाहुभ्यामुत ते नमः॥१॥
अर्थ- दु:ख दूर करने वाले (अथवा ज्ञान प्रदान करने वाले) हे रुद्र! आपके क्रोध के लिये नमस्कार है, आपके बाणों के लिये नमस्कार है और आपकी दोनों भुजाओं के लिये नमस्कार है॥१॥
Meaning- O Rudra, one who removes sorrow (or imparts knowledge)! Salutations to your anger, salutations to your arrows and salutations to both your arms.
तया नस्तन्वा शन्तमया गिरिशन्ताभि चाकशीहि ॥२॥
अर्थ- हे गिरिशन्त (कैलास पर रहकर संसार का कल्याण करने वाले अथवा वाणी में स्थित होकर लोगों को सुख देने वाले या मेघ में स्थित होकर वृष्टि के द्वारा लोगों को सुख देने वाले)! हे रुद्र! आपका जो मंगलदायक, सौम्य, केवल पुण्य प्रकाशक शरीर है, उस अनन्त सुखकारक शरीर से हमारी ओर देखिये अर्थात् हमारी रक्षा कीजिये॥२॥
Meaning- O Girishant (the one who benefits the world by staying on Kailash or the one who gives happiness to people by being situated in speech or the one who gives happiness to people by being situated in the clouds through rain)! Hey Rudra! Your auspicious, gentle, only virtuous body, look at us from that eternally pleasurable body, i.e. protect us.॥2॥
यामिषुं गिरिशन्त हस्ते बिभर्यस्तवे।
शिवां गिरित्र तां कुरु मा हि सी: पुरुषं जगत् ॥३॥
अर्थ- कैलास पर रहकर संसार का कल्याण करने वाले तथा मेघों में स्थित होकर वृष्टि के द्वारा जगत की रक्षा करने वाले हे सर्वज्ञ रुद्र ! शत्रुओं का नाश करने के लिये जिस बाण को आप अपने हाथ में धारण करते हैं, वह कल्याणकारक हो और आप मेरे पुत्र-पौत्र तथा गौ, अश्व आदि का नाश मत कीजिये॥३॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- O omniscient Rudra, who benefits the world by staying on Kailash and who protects the world through rain by being situated in the clouds! The arrow which you hold in your hand to destroy the enemies, should be beneficial and you should not destroy my sons, grandsons, cows, horses etc. ॥3॥ - Rudra Suktam.
शिवेन वचसा त्वा गिरिशाच्छा वदामसि।
यथा नः सर्वमिज्जगदयक्ष्म सुमना असत्॥४॥
अर्थ- हे कैलास पर शयन करने वाले! आपको प्राप्त करने के लिये हम मंगलमय वचन से आपकी स्तुति करते हैं। जिस प्रकार हमारा समस्त संसार ताप रहित, निरोग और निर्मल मन वाला बने, वैसा आप करें ।।४।।
Meaning- O one who sleeps on Kailash! To attain you, we praise you with auspicious words. Just as our entire world becomes heat free, healthy and pure minded, you should do the same.4.
अध्यवोचदधिवक्ता प्रथमो दैव्यो भिषक् ।
अर्हीश्च सर्वाञ्जम्भयन्त्सर्वाश्च
यातुधान्योऽधराचीः परा सुव॥५॥
अर्थ- अत्यधिक वन्दनशील, समस्त देवताओं में मुख्य, देवगणों के हितकारी तथा रोगों का नाश करने वाले रुद्र मुझसे सबसे अधिक बोलें, जिससे मैं सर्वश्रेष्ठ हो जाऊँ। हे रुद्र! समस्त सर्प, व्याघ्र आदि हिंसकों का नाश करते हुए आप अधोगमन कराने वाली राक्षसियों को हमसे दूर कर दें॥५॥
Meaning- May Rudra, who is highly worshipable, the chief among all the gods, the benefactor of the gods and the destroyer of diseases, speak to me the most, so that I may become the best. Hey Rudra! By destroying all the snakes, tigers etc., you remove from us the demons who cause degradation.॥5॥
असौ यस्ताम्रो अरुण उत बभ्रुः सुमङ्गलः।
ये चैन रुद्रा अभितो दिक्षु श्रिताः सहस्रशोऽवैषा हेड ईमहे॥६॥
अर्थ- उदय के समय ताम्रवर्ण (अत्यन्त रक्त), अस्तकाल में अरुण वर्ण (रक्त), अन्य समय में वधु (पिंगल) वर्ण तथा शुभ मंगलों वाला जो यह सूर्यरूप है, वह रुद्र ही है। किरण रूप में ये जो हजारों रुद्र इन आदित्य के सभी ओर स्थित हैं, इनके क्रोध का हम अपनी भक्ति मय उपासना से निवारण करते हैं ॥६॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- This sun form which is of copper color (extreme blood) at the time of rising, azure color (blood) during sunset, bride (pingal) color at other times and has auspicious auspiciousness, is Rudra only. These thousands of Rudras in the form of rays are situated on all sides of these Adityas, we remove their anger by our devotional worship. ॥6॥- Rudra Suktam.
असौ योऽवसर्पति नीलग्रीवो विलोहितः।
उतैनं गोपा अदृश्रन्नदृश्रन्नुदहार्यः स दृष्टो मृडयाति नः॥७॥
अर्थ- जिन्हें अज्ञानी गोप तथा जल भरने वाली दासियाँ भी प्रत्यक्ष देख सकती हैं, विष धारण करने से जिनका कण्ठ नील वर्ण का हो गया है, तथापि विशेषतः रक्तवर्ण होकर जो सर्वदा उदय और अस्त को प्राप्त होकर गमन करते हैं, वे रवि मण्डल स्थित रुद्र हमें सुखी कर दें॥७॥
Meaning- Those who can be seen clearly even by the ignorant gopas and the maids who draw water, whose throat has become blue due to consuming poison, however, who are especially blood colored and who always move after receiving the rising and setting, they are the Rudra situated in the Ravi Mandal. Make us happy॥7॥
नमोऽस्तु नीलग्रीवाय सहस्राक्षाय मीढुषे।
अथो ये अस्य सत्वानोऽहं तेभ्योऽकरं नमः॥८॥
अर्थ- नीलकण्ठ, सहस्र नेत्र वाले, इन्द्र स्वरूप और वृष्टि करने वाले रुद्र के लिये मेरा नमस्कार है। उस रुद्रके जो अनुचर हैं, उनके लिये भी मैं नमस्कार करता हूँ॥८॥
Meaning- I salute Neelkanth, the one with thousands of eyes, the form of Indra and the one who brings rain, Rudra. I also pay obeisance to the followers of that Rudra.॥8॥
प्रमुञ्च धन्वनस्त्वमुभयोरार्त्न्योर्ज्याम्।
याश्च ते हस्त इषवः परा ता भगवो वप॥९॥
अर्थ- हे भगवन्! आप धनुष की दोनों कोटियों के मध्य स्थित प्रत्यंचा का त्याग कर दें और अपने हाथ में स्थित बाणों को भी दूर फेंक दें अर्थात् हम पर अनुग्रह करें॥९॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Oh God! You should release the string located between the two bowstrings of the bow and also throw away the arrows in your hand, that is, please be kind to us. ॥9॥ - Rudra Suktam.
विज्यं धनुः कपर्दिनो विशल्यो बाणवाँ२ उत।
अनेशन्नस्य या इषव आभुरस्य निषङ्गधिः॥१०॥
अर्थ- जटा जूट धारण करने वाले रुद्र का धनुष प्रत्यंचा रहित रहे, तूणीर में स्थित बाणों के नोकदार अग्र भाग नष्ट हो जायँ, इन रुद्र के जो बाण हैं. वे भी नष्ट हो जाये तथा इनके खड्ग रखने का कोश भी खड्ग रहित हो जाय अर्थात् वे रुद्र हमारे प्रति सर्वथा करुणामय हो जायँ ॥१०॥
Meaning- The bow of Rudra, who wears coired jute, should remain free from string, the pointed tip of the arrows located in Tunir, these arrows of Rudra should be destroyed. May they also be destroyed and their storehouse of swords should also become free from swords, that is, Rudra should become completely compassionate towards us. ॥10॥
या ते हेतिर्मीढुष्टम हस्ते बभूव ते धनुः।
तयाऽस्मान्विश्वतस्त्वमयमया परि भुज॥११॥
अर्थ- अत्यधिक वृष्टि करने वाले हे रुद्र! आपके हाथ में जो धनुष रूप आयुध है, उस सुदृढ़ तथा अनुप द्रवकारी धनुष से हमारी सब ओर से रक्षा कीजिये॥११॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- O Rudra, the one who rains heavily! Protect us from all sides with the strong and incomparable flowing bow that you have in your hands. ॥11॥ - Rudra Suktam
परि ते धन्वनो हेतिरस्मान्वृणक्तु विश्वतः।
अथो य इषुधिस्तवारे अस्मन्नि धेहि तम्॥१२॥
अर्थ- हे रुद्र! आपका धनुष रूप आयुध सब ओर से हमारा त्याग करे अर्थात् हमें न मारे और आपका जो बाणों से भरा तरकश है, उसे हमसे दूर रखिये॥१२॥
Meaning- Oh Rudra! Your weapon in the form of a bow should avoid us from all sides, that is, it should not kill us and your quiver full of arrows should be kept away from us.॥12॥
अवतत्य धनुष्ट्व सहस्राक्ष शतेषुधे।
निशीर्य शल्यानां मुखा शिवो नः सुमना भव ॥१३॥
अर्थ- सौ तूणीर और सहस्र नेत्र धारण करने वाले हे रुद्र! धनुष की प्रत्यंचा दूर करके और बाणों के अग्र भागों को तोड़कर आप हमारे प्रति शान्त और प्रसन्न मन वाले हो जायें॥१३॥
Meaning- O Rudra, who has a hundred ears and a thousand eyes! By removing the string from the bow and breaking the tips of the arrows, you become peaceful and happy towards us.13॥
नमस्त आयुधायानातताय धृष्णवे।
उभाभ्यामुत ते नमो बाहुभ्यां तव धन्वने॥१४॥
अर्थ- हे रुद्र! शत्रुओं को मारने में प्रगल्भ और धनुष पर न चढ़ाये गये आपके बाण के लिये हमारा प्रणाम है। आपकी दोनों बाहुओं और धनुष के लिये भी हमारा प्रणाम है॥१४॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Oh Rudra! We salute you for your efforts in killing the enemies and your arrows that were not placed on the bow. We salute you for both your arms and your bow also.14.- Rudra Suktam
मा नो महान्तमुत मा नो
अर्भकं मा न उक्षन्तमुत मा न उक्षितम्।
मा नो वधी: पितरं मोत मातरं
मा नः प्रियास्तन्वो रुद्र रीरिषः॥१५॥
अर्थ- हे रुद्र! हमारे गुरु, पितृव्य आदि वृद्धजनों को मत मारिये, हमारे बालक की हिंसा मत कीजिये, हमारे तरुण को मत मारिये, हमारे गर्भस्थ शिशु का नाश मत कीजिये, हमारे माता-पिता को मत मारिये तथा हमारे प्रिय पुत्र-पौत्र आदि की हिंसा मत कीजिये॥१५॥
Meaning- Oh Rudra! Do not kill our teachers, elders etc., do not do violence to our children, do not kill our youth, do not destroy our unborn child, do not kill our parents and do not do violence to our beloved sons and grandchildren etc. 15॥
मा नस्तोके तनये मा न आयुषि
मा नो गोषु मा नो अश्वेषु रीरिषः।
मा नो वीरान् रुद्र भामिनो वधीर्हविष्मन्तः
सदमित् त्वा हवामहे॥१६॥
अर्थ- हे रुद्र! हमारे पुत्र-पौत्र आदि का विनाश मत कीजिये, हमारी आयु को नष्ट मत कीजिये, हमारी गौओं को मत मारिये, हमारे घोड़ों का नाश मत कीजिये, हमारे क्रोध युक्त वीरों की हिंसा मत कीजिये। हवि से युक्त होकर हम सब सदा आपका आवाहन करते हैं ॥१६॥
Meaning- Oh Rudra! Don't destroy our sons and grandsons, don't destroy our lifespan, don't kill our cows, don't destroy our horses, don't do violence to our angry warriors. Armed with Havi, we all always appeal to you.16॥
नमो हिरण्यबाहवे सेनान्ये दिशां च पतये नमो
नमो वृक्षेभ्यो हरिकेशेभ्यः पशूनां पतये नमो नमः
शष्पिञ्जराय त्विषीमते पथीनां पतये नमो नमो
हरिकेशायोपवीतिने पुष्टानां पतये नमः॥१७॥
अर्थ- भुजाओं में सुवर्ण धारण करने वाले सेना नायक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दिशाओं के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, पूर्ण रूप हरे केशों वाले वृक्ष रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, जीवों का पालन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, कान्तिमान् बालतृण के समान पीत वर्ण वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, मार्गो के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, नीलवर्ण केश से युक्त तथा मंगल के लिये यज्ञोपवीत धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गुणों से परिपूर्ण मनुष्यों के स्वामी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥१७॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra, the army leader who holds gold in his arms, salutations to Rudra the protector of the directions, salutations to Rudra who has full form and tree form with green hair, salutations to Rudra who takes care of the living beings and is radiant. Salutations to Rudra who is yellow like hair, Salutations to Rudra the protector of roads, Salutations to Rudra who has blue hair and wears Yajnopavita for Mars, Salutations to Rudra, the lord of humans full of virtues. ॥17॥
नमो बभ्लुशाय व्याधिने ऽन्नानां पतये नमो
नमो भवस्य हेत्यै जगतां पतये नमो
नमो रुद्रायाततायिने क्षेत्राणां पतये नमो
नमः सूतायाहन्त्यै वनानां पतये नमः ॥१८॥
अर्थ- कपिल (वर्ण वाले अथवा वृषभ पर आरूढ़ होने वाले) तथा शत्रुओं को बेधने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अन्नों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, संसार के आयुध रूप (अथवा जगन्निवर्तक) रुद्रके लिये नमस्कार है, जगत का पालन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, उद्यत आयुध वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, देहों का पालन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, न मारने वाले सारथि रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है तथा वनों के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥१८॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who is Kapil (of varna or mounted on the bull) and who pierces the enemies, salutations to Rudra the guardian of grains, salutations to Rudra who is the weapon of the world (or Jagannivartak), who maintains the world. Salutations to Rudra who wields weapons, salutations to Rudra who takes care of bodies, salutations to Rudra who is the charioteer who does not kill, and salutations to Rudra the protector of the forests. ॥18॥- Rudra Suktam
नमो रोहिताय स्थपतये वृक्षाणां पतये नमो
नमो भुवन्तये वारिवस्कृतायौषधीनां पतये नमो
नमो मन्त्रिणे वाणिजाय कक्षाणां पतये नमो
नम उच्चैर्घोषायाक्रन्दयते पत्तीनां पतये नमः ॥१९॥
अर्थ- लोहित वर्ण वाले तथा गृह आदि के निर्माता विश्वकर्मा रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वृक्षों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, भुवन का विस्तार करने वाले तथा समृद्धि कारक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, ओषधियों के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, आलोचन कुशल व्यापार कर्तारूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वन के लता-वृक्ष आदि के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, युद्ध में उग्र शब्द करनेवा ले तथा शत्रुओं को रुलाने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हाथी, घोड़ा, रथ, पैदल आदि सेनाओं के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है ॥१९॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra in the form of Vishwakarma who has red complexion and is the creator of houses etc. Salutations to Rudra who is the guardian of trees. Salutations to Rudra who expands the earth and is the cause of prosperity. Salutations to Rudra the protector of medicines. Criticism: Salutations to Rudra who is a skilled businessman, salutations to Rudra who is the guardian of creepers, trees etc. in the forest, salutations to Rudra who makes fierce words in war and makes enemies cry, salutations to Rudra who has elephants, horses, chariots, foot armies etc. Salutations to Rudra, the guardian of ॥19॥
नमः कृत्स्नायतया धावते सत्वनां पतये नमो नमः
सहमानाय निव्याधिन आव्याधिनीनां पतये नमो
नमो निषङ्गिणे ककुभाय स्तेनानां पतये नमो
नमो निचेरवे परिचरायारण्यानां पतये नमः ॥२०॥
अर्थ- कर्णपर्यन्त प्रत्यंचा खींचकर युद्ध में शीघ्रता पूर्वक दौड़ने वाले (अथवा सम्पूर्ण लाभ की प्राप्ति कराने वाले) रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शरणागत प्राणियों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शत्रुओं का तिरस्कार करने वाले तथा शत्रुओं को बेधने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सब प्रकार से प्रहार करने वाली शूर सेनाओं के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, खड्ग चलाने वाले महान् रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गुप्त चोरों के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अपहार की बुद्धि से निरन्तर गतिशील तथा हरण की इच्छा से आपण (बाजार) वाटिका आदि में विचरण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है तथा वनों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥२०॥- रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who runs quickly in battle by pulling the string till his ears (or who grants complete benefits), Salutations to Rudra who is the protector of the living beings who take refuge in him, Salutations to Rudra who despises the enemies and pierces them. Salutations to Rudra, the protector of the brave armies who attack in every way, salutations to the great Rudra who wields the sword, salutations to Rudra the protector of secret thieves, constantly moving with the intelligence of snatching and with the desire to abduct. Salutations to Rudra who wanders in the (market) gardens etc. and salutations to Rudra the guardian of the forests. ॥20॥ - Rudra Suktam
नमो वञ्चते परिवञ्चते स्तायूनां पतये नमो नमो
निषङ्गिण इषुधिमते तस्कराणां पतये नमो नमः
सृकायिभ्यो जिघा सद्भयो मुष्णतां पतये नमो
नमोऽसिमद्भयो नक्तञ्चरद्भयो विकृन्तानां पतये नमः॥२१॥
अर्थ- वंचना करने वाले तथा अपने स्वामी को विश्वास दिलाकर धन हरण करके उसे ठगने वाले रुद्ररूप के लिये नमस्कार है, गुप्त धन चुराने वालों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, बाण तथा तूणीर धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रकट रूप में चोरी करने वालों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वज़ धारण करने वाले तथा शत्रुओं को मारने की इच्छा वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, खेतों में धान्य आदि चुराने वालों के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्राणियों पर घात करने के लिये खड्ग धारणकर रात्रि में विचरण करने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है तथा दूसरों को काटकर उनका धन हरण करने वालों के पालक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥२१॥
Meaning- Salutations to the form of Rudra who defrauds and defrauds his master by confiscating his wealth, salutations to Rudra who is the protector of those who steal hidden wealth, salutations to Rudra who wields arrows and a gun, in his manifest form. Salutations to Rudra, the guardian of those who steal, salutations to Rudra who holds the weapon and wishes to kill the enemies, salutations to Rudra the protector of those who steal grains etc. in the fields, who wields a sword to kill animals. Salutations to the Rudras who roam about at night and salutations to Rudra, the protector of those who bite others and steal their wealth.॥21॥
नम उष्णीषिणे गिरिचराय कुलुञ्चानां पतये
नमो नम इषुमद्भयो धन्वायिभ्यश्च वो नमो
नम आतन्वानेभ्यः प्रतिदधानेभ्यश्च वो नमो
नम आयच्छद्भयो ऽस्यद्भयश्च वो नमः ॥२२॥
अर्थ- सिर पर पगड़ी धारण करके पर्वतादि दुर्गम स्थानों में विचरने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, छल पूर्वक दूसरों के क्षेत्र, गृह आदि का हरण करने वालों के पालक रुद्ररूप के लिये नमस्कार है, लोगों को भयभीत करने के लिये बाण धारण करने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धनुष धारण करने वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धनुष पर प्रत्यंचा चढ़ाने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धनुष पर बाण का संधान करने वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धनुष को भलीभाँति खींचने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, बाणों को सम्यक् छोड़ने वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२२॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who wanders in inaccessible places like mountains wearing a turban on his head, salutations to the form of Rudra who is the guardian of those who take away other people's fields, homes etc. by deceit, Rudras who wear arrows to frighten people. Salutations to you Rudras who hold the bow, Salutations to you Rudras who string the bow, Salutations to you Rudras who adjust the arrow on the bow, Salutations to you Rudras who pull the bow well. Hey, salutations to you Rudras who release the arrows properly.॥22॥
नमो विसृजद्भयो विध्यद्भयश्च वो नमो
नमः स्वपढ्यो जाग्रद्भ्यश्च वो नमो
नमः शयानेभ्य आसीनेभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमस्तिष्ठद्भयो धावद्भ्यश्च वो नमः॥२३॥
अर्थ- पापियों के दमन के लिये बाण चलाने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, शत्रुओं को बेधने वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, स्वप्नावस्था का अनुभव करने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, जाग्रत् अवस्था वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, सुषुप्ति अवस्था वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, बैठे हुए आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, स्थित रहने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, वेगवान् गति वाले आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२३॥
Meaning- Salutations to you Rudras who shoot arrows to suppress the sinners, salutations to you Rudras who pierce the enemies, salutations to you Rudras who experience the dream state, salutations to you Rudras who are in the waking state, deep sleep state. Salutations to you Rudras who are sitting, salutations to you Rudras who are sitting, salutations to you Rudras who are standing still, salutations to you Rudras who are fast moving.॥23॥
नमः सभाभ्यः सभापतिभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमोऽश्वेभ्यो ऽश्वपतिभ्यश्च वो नमो नम
आव्याधिनीभ्यो विविध्यन्तीभ्यश्च वो नमो
नम उगणाभ्यस्तृ हतीभ्यश्च वो नमः॥२४॥
अर्थ- सभा रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, सभापति रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, अश्व रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, अश्वपति रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, सब प्रकार से बेधन करने वाले देवसेना रूप रुद्रोंके लिये नमस्कार है, विशेष रूप से बेधन करने वाले देवसेना रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, उत्कृष्ट भृत्य-समूहों वाली ब्राह्मी आदि माता स्वरूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है और मारने में समर्थ दुर्गा आदि माता स्वरूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२४॥-रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Sabha form is a salutation to the Rudras, Sabhapati form is a salutation to you Rudras, Ashwa form is a salutation to the Rudras, Ashwapati form is a salutation to you Rudras, Devasena form is a salutation to the Rudras who pierce in every way, special Salutations to you Rudras in the form of the army of gods who pierce the form, salutations to you Rudras in the form of Brahmi and the excellent group of servants, and salutations to you Rudras in the form of Durga who is capable of killing. ॥24॥ - Rudra Suktam
नमो गणेभ्यो गणपतिभ्यश्च वो नमो नमो
व्रातेभ्यो व्रातपतिभ्यश्च वो नमो नमो
गृत्सेभ्यो गृत्सपतिभ्यश्च वो नमो नमो
विरूपेभ्यो विश्वरूपेभ्यश्च वो नमः॥२५॥
अर्थ- देवानुचर भूतगण रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, भूतगणों के अधिपति रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, भिन्न-भिन्न जाति समूह रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, विभिन्न जाति समूहों के अधिपतिरूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, मेधावी ब्रह्म जिज्ञासु रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, मेधावी ब्रह्म जिज्ञासुओं के अधिपति रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, निकृष्ट रूप वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, नानाविध रूपों वाले विश्वरूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२५॥-रूद्र सूक्तं
Meaning- Salutations to the Rudras in the form of followers of the gods, Salutations to you Rudras, the ruler of the ghosts, Salutations to the Rudras of different caste groups, Salutations to you Rudras, the rulers of different caste groups, Intelligent Brahma inquisitive form. Salutations to the Rudras, salutations to you Rudras, the master form of the intelligent Brahma seekers, salutations to you Rudras of inferior form, salutations to you Rudras, the form of the world with diverse forms. ॥25॥ - Rudra Suktam.
नमः सेनाभ्यः सेनानिभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमो रथिभ्यो अरथेभ्यश्च वो नमो नमः
क्षतृभ्यः संग्रहीतृभ्यश्च वो नमो नमो
महद्भयो अर्भकेभ्यश्च वो नमः॥२६॥
अर्थ- सेना रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, सेनापति रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, रथीरूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, रथ विहीन आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, रथों के अधिष्ठाता रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, सारथि रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, जाति तथा विद्या आदि से उत्कृष्ट प्राणि रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रमाण आदि से अल्प रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२६॥
Meaning- The form of the army is salutations to the Rudras, the form of the commander is salutations to you Rudras, the form of the charioteer is salutations to the Rudras, the form without the chariot is salutations to the Rudras, the presiding deity of chariots is salutations to the Rudras, the charioteer form is salutations to you Rudras. Salutations to him, salutations to the Rudras who are superior in terms of caste, education etc., salutations to the Rudras who are inferior in terms of knowledge etc.॥26॥
नमस्तक्षभ्यो रथकारेभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमः कुलालेभ्यः कर्मारेभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमो निषादेभ्यः पुञ्जिष्ठेभ्यश्च वो नमो नमः
श्वनिभ्यो मृगयुभ्यश्च वो नमः॥२७॥
अर्थ- शिल्पकार रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, रथ निर्माता रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, कुम्भकार रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, लौहकार रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, वन पर्वतादि में विचरने वाले निषाद रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, पक्षियों को मारने वाले पुल्कसादि रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, श्वानों के गले में बँधी रस्सी धारण करने वाले रुद्ररूपों के लिये नमस्कार है और मृगों की कामना करने वाले व्याधरूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥२७॥
Meaning- The form of the craftsman is a salutation to the Rudras, the form of the chariot maker is a salutation to the Rudras, the form of the potter is a salutation to the Rudras, the form of the ironworker is a salutation to the Rudras, the form of the Nishad who wanders in the forest, mountains etc. is a salutation to the Rudras, Salutations to you Rudras in the form of Pulkasadi who kill birds, salutations to you Rudras who wear the rope tied around the necks of dogs and salutations to you Rudras in the form of Vyadha who wish for deer.॥27॥
नमः श्वभ्यः श्वपतिभ्यश्च वो नमो
नमो भवाय च रुद्राय च नमः
शर्वाय च पशुपतये च नमो
नीलग्रीवाय च शितिकण्ठाय च॥२८॥
अर्थ- श्वान रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, श्वानों के स्वामी रूप आप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, प्राणियों के उत्पत्तिकर्ता रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दुःखों के विनाशक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, पापों का नाश करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, पशुओं के रक्षक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हलाहल पान के फलस्वरूप नीलवर्ण के कण्ठ वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और श्वेत कण्ठ वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥२८॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra in the form of a dog, Salutations to you Rudra who is the lord of dogs, Salutations to Rudra the creator of living beings, Salutations to Rudra the destroyer of sorrows, Salutations to Rudra the destroyer of sins, Salutations to Rudra, the protector of animals, salutations to Rudra whose throat turns blue as a result of drinking Halahala betel leaf, and salutations to Rudra who has a white throat.॥28॥
नमः कपर्दिने च व्युप्तकेशाय च
नमः सहस्राक्षाय च शतधन्वने च
नमो गिरिशयाय च शिपिविष्टाय च
नमो मीढुष्टमाय चेषुमते च॥२९॥
अर्थ- जटाजूट धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, मुण्डित केश वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हजारों नेत्र वाले इन्द्र रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सैकड़ों धनुष धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, कैलास पर्वत पर शयन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सभी प्राणियों के अन्तर्यामी विष्णु रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अत्यधिक सेचन करने वाले मेघ रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और बाण धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥२९॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who wears Jatajuta, Salutations to Rudra with shaved hair, Salutations to Rudra in the form of Indra with thousands of eyes, Salutations to Rudra who holds hundreds of bows, Salutations to Rudra who sleeps on Mount Kailash. Salutations to Rudra, the form of Vishnu who is the innermost being of all living beings, salutations to Rudra, the form of clouds that provide abundant irrigation, and salutations to Rudra, the bearer of arrows.॥29॥
नमो ह्रस्वाय च वामनाय च
नमो बृहते च वर्षीयसे च
नमो वृद्धाय च सवृधे च
नमोऽग्न्याय च प्रथमाय च॥३०॥
अर्थ- अल्प देह वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, संकुचित अंगों वाले वामन रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, बृहत्काय रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अत्यन्त वृद्धावस्था वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अधिक आयु वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, विद्याविनयादि गुणों से सम्पन्न विद्वानों के साथी रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जगत के आदिभूत रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और सर्वत्र मुख्य स्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३०॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra with small body, Salutations to Vamana form Rudra with narrow limbs, Salutations to Rudra of great body, Salutations to Rudra of very old age, Salutations to Rudra of great age, with qualities like Vidyavinaya etc. Salutations to Rudra, the companion of accomplished scholars, salutations to Rudra who is the origin of the world and salutations to Rudra who is the main form everywhere.॥30॥
नम आशवे चाजिराय च नमः
शीघ्रयाय च शीभ्याय च
नम ऊर्ध्याय चावस्वन्याय च नमो
नादेयाय च द्वीप्याय च॥३१॥
अर्थ- जगद्व्यापी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गतिशील रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वेगवाली वस्तुओं में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जल प्रवाह में विद्यमान आत्मश्लाघी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जल तरंगों में व्याप्त रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, स्थिर जलरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, नदियों में व्याप्त रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और द्वीपों में व्याप्त रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३१॥
Meaning- Salutations to the universal Rudra, Salutations to the moving Rudra, Salutations to the Rudra present in fast objects, Salutations to the self-praise Rudra present in the water flow, Salutations to the Rudra present in the water waves, Still water form Rudra. Salutations to him, salutations to Rudra present in the rivers and salutations to Rudra present in the islands.॥31॥
नमो ज्येष्ठाय च कनिष्ठाय च नमः
पूर्वजाय चापरजाय च
नमो मध्यमाय चापगल्भाय च
नमो जघन्याय च बुध्याय च ॥३२॥
अर्थ- अति प्रशस्य ज्येष्ठ रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अत्यन्त युवा (अथवा कनिष्ठ)- रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जगत के आदि में हिरण्यगर्भ रूप से प्रादुर्भूत हुए रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रलय के समय कालाग्नि के सदृश रूप धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सृष्टि और प्रलय के मध्य में देवनर-तिर्यगादि रूप से उत्पन्न होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अव्युत्पन्नेन्द्रिय रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है अथवा विनीत रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, (गाय आदि के) जघन प्रदेश से उत्पन्न होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और वृक्षादिकों के मूल में निवास करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३२॥
Meaning- Salutations to the most admired elder form of Rudra, Salutations to the very young (or junior) form Rudra, Salutations to Rudra who appeared in the form of Hiranyagarbha in the beginning of the world, assuming a form similar to black fire at the time of destruction. Salutations to Rudra who is born in the middle of creation and destruction, salutations to Rudra who is born in the form of Devnar-Tiryagadi between creation and destruction, salutations to Rudra of non-sensory senses or humble Rudra, originating from the pubic region (of cows etc.) Salutations to the Rudra who is to be born and salutations to the Rudra who resides at the root of the trees. ॥32॥
नमः सोभ्याय च प्रतिसर्याय च
नमो याम्याय च क्षेम्याय च
नमः श्लोक्याय चावसान्याय च
नम उर्वर्याय च खल्याय च॥३३॥
अर्थ- गन्धर्व नगर में होने वाले (अथवा पुण्य और पापों से युक्त मनुष्य लोक में उत्पन्न होने वाले) रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रत्यभिचार में रहने वाले (अथवा विवाह के समय हस्त सूत्र में उत्पन्न होने वाले) रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, पापियों को नरक की वेदना देने वाले यम के अन्तर्यामी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, कुशल कर्म में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वेद के मन्त्र (अथवा यश) द्वारा उत्पन्न हुए रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वेदान्त के तात्पर्य विषयी भूत रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सर्वसस्य सम्पन्न पृथ्वी से उत्पन्न होने वाले धान्य रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, धान्यविवेचन-देश (खलिहान) में उत्पन्न हुए रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३३॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who is born in Gandharva city (or is born in the human world full of virtues and sins), Salutations to Rudra who lives in Pratyabhichar (or is born in Hasta Sutra at the time of marriage), sinners. Salutations to the inner Rudra of Yama who gives the pain of hell, salutations to the Rudra who lives in skillful actions, salutations to the Rudra who was born through the mantra (or fame) of the Vedas, salutations to the ghost Rudra which is the subject of Vedanta. Salutations to Rudra, who is born in the form of grain, born from the earth full of all crops. Salutations to Rudra, born in the land of grain-distribution (barn). ॥33॥
नमो वन्याय च कक्ष्याय च नमः
श्रवाय च प्रतिश्रवाय च नम:
आशुषेणाय चाशुरथाय च नमः
शूराय चावभेदिने च॥३४॥
अर्थ- वनों में वृक्ष-लतादि रूप रुद्र अथवा वरुण स्वरूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, शुष्क तृण अथवा गुल्मों में रहनेवाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है। प्रतिध्वनि स्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शीघ्रगामी सेना वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शीघ्रगामी रथ वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, युद्ध में शूरता प्रदर्शित करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है तथा शत्रुओं को विदीर्ण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३४॥
Meaning- Salutation to Rudra in the form of trees and creepers in the forests or Rudra in the form of Varun, salutation to Rudra who lives in dry grass or bushes. Salutations to Rudra in the form of echo, salutations to Rudra who has a fast-moving army, salutations to Rudra who has a fast-moving chariot, salutations to Rudra who displays bravery in war and salutations to Rudra who disintegrates the enemies.34 ॥
नमो बिल्मिने च कवचिने च नमो
वर्मिणे च वरूथिने च नमः
श्रुताय च श्रुतसेनाय च नमो
दुन्दुभ्याय चाहनन्याय च॥३५॥
अर्थ- शिरस्त्राण धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, कपास-निर्मित देहरक्षक (अंगरखा) धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, लोहे का बख्तर धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गुम्बद युक्त रथ वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, संसार में प्रसिद्ध रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रसिद्ध सेना वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दुन्दुभी (भेरी) में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, भेरी आदि वाद्यों को बजाने में प्रयुक्त होने वाले दण्ड आदि में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३५॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who wears a headgear, salutations to Rudra who wears a body guard made of cotton, salutations to Rudra who wears iron armour, salutations to Rudra who has a chariot with a dome, Salutations to the famous Rudra in the world, salutations to the famous Rudra of the army, salutations to the Rudra present in Dundubhi (Bheri), salutations to the Rudra present in the sticks used in playing musical instruments like Bheri etc.35 ॥
नमो धृष्णवे च प्रमृशाय च
नमो निषङ्गिणे चेषुधिमते च नमस्ती
क्ष्णेषवे चायुधिने च नमः
स्वायुधाय च सुधन्वने च॥३६॥
अर्थ- प्रगल्भ स्वभाव वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सत्-असत का विवेक पूर्वक विचार करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, खड्ग धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, तूणीर (तरकश) धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, तीक्ष्ण बाणों वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, नानाविध आयुधों को धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, उत्तम त्रिशूल रूप आयुध धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और श्रेष्ठ पिनाक धनुष धारण करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३६॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who has a strong nature, Salutations to Rudra who considers good and bad wisely, Salutations to Rudra who holds a sword, Salutations to Rudra who holds a quiver, Sharp. Salutations to Rudra wielding arrows, salutations to Rudra wielding various weapons, salutations to Rudra wielding the excellent trident weapon and salutations to Rudra wielding the finest Pinaka bow.॥36॥
नमः स्रुत्याय च पथ्याय च नमः
काट्याय च नीप्याय च नमः कुल्याय
च सरस्याय च नमो नादेयाय
च वैशन्ताय च॥३७॥
अर्थ- क्षुद्रमार्ग में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, रथ-गज, अश्व आदि के योग्य विस्तृत मार्ग में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दुर्गम मार्गो में स्थित रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जहाँ झरनों का जल गिरता है, उस भूप्रदेश में उत्पन्न हुए अथवा पर्वतों के अधोभाग में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, नहर के मार्ग में स्थित अथवा शरीरों में अन्तर्यामी रूप से विराजमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सरोवर में उत्पन्न होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सरितादिकों में विद्यमान जल रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अल्प सरोवर में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३७॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who resides in small roads, Salutations to Rudra who resides in wide roads suitable for chariots, horses etc., Salutations to Rudra who resides in inaccessible roads, where water from springs falls. Salutations to the Rudra who was born in that land or present at the base of the mountains, Salutations to the Rudra situated on the way of the canal or present internally in the bodies, Salutations to the Rudra born in the lake, in the rivers. Salutations to Rudra who exists in the water form, salutations to Rudra who resides in the small lake. ॥37॥
नमः कूप्याय चावट्याय च
नमो वीध्र्याय चातप्याय च
नमो मेघ्याय च विद्युत्याय च
नमो वाय चावाय च॥३८॥
अर्थ- कूपों में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गर्त-स्थानों में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शरद्-ऋतु के बादलों अथवा चन्द्र-नक्षत्रादि मण्डल में विद्यमान विशुद्ध स्वभाव वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, आतप (धूप) में उत्पन्न होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, मेघों में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, विद्युत में होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वृष्टि में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है तथा अवर्षण में स्थित रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३८॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra present in wells, Salutations to Rudra living in pits, Salutations to Rudra of pure nature present in autumn clouds or moon and constellations, born in heat (sunshine) Salutations to the Rudra that appears, salutations to the Rudra present in the clouds, salutations to the Rudra present in the lightning, salutations to the Rudra present in the rain and salutations to the Rudra present in the precipitation.॥38॥
नमो वात्याय च रेष्याय च
नमो वास्तव्याय च वास्तुपाय च
नमः सोमाय च रुद्राय च
नमस्ताम्राय चारुणाय च॥३९॥
अर्थ- वायु में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रलयकाल में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गृह-भूमि में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है अथवा सर्वशरीर वासी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गृहभूमि के रक्षक रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, चन्द्रमा में स्थित अथवा ब्रह्मविद्या महाशक्ति उमासहित विराजमान सदाशिव रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सर्वविध अनिष्ट के विनाशक रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, उदित होने वाले सूर्य के रूप में ताम्रवर्ण के रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और उदय के पश्चात् अरुण (कुछ-कुछ रक्त) वर्ण वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥३९॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who lives in the air, Salutations to Rudra who exists in the time of destruction, Salutations to Rudra present in the home land or Salutations to Rudra who resides in the entire body, Salutations to Rudra who is the protector of the home land. Salutations to Sadashiva Rudra who is situated in the moon or the Brahmavidya super power along with Uma, salutations to Rudra the destroyer of all evils, salutations to Rudra of copper complexion in the form of the rising sun and after rising, Arun (somewhat Salutations to Rudra of blood color.39॥
नमः शङ्गवे च पशुपतये च नम
उग्राय च भीमाय च नमोऽग्रेवधाय
च दूरेवधाय च नमो हन्त्रे च हनीयसे
च नमो वृक्षेभ्यो हरिकेशेभ्यो नमस्ताराय॥४०॥
अर्थ- भक्तों को सुख की प्राप्ति कराने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जीवों के अधिपति स्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, संहार-काल में प्रचण्ड स्वरूप वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अपने भयानक रूप से शत्रुओं को भयभीत करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सामने खड़े होकर वध करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दूर स्थित रहकर संहार करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हनन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, प्रलयकाल में रावहन्ता रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हरित वर्ण के पत्र रूप केशों वाले कल्पत रुस्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और ज्ञानोपदेश के द्वारा अधिकारी जनों को तारने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥४०॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who grants happiness to the devotees, salutations to Rudra who is the ruler of living beings, salutations to Rudra who is ferocious in times of destruction, salutations to Rudra who terrifies the enemies with his terrifying form. Greetings, greetings to Rudra who kills while standing in front, greetings to Rudra who kills while staying away, greetings to Rudra who kills, greetings to Rudra who takes the form of Ravantha in the time of doomsday, green letters. Salutations to Rudra who has the form of golden hair, and to Rudra who saves the people in authority through the teachings of knowledge.॥40॥
नमः शम्भवाय च मयोभवाय च नमः शङ्कराय
च मयस्कराय च नमः शिवाय च शिवतराय च॥४१॥
अर्थ- सुख के उत्पत्ति स्थान रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, भोग तथा मोक्ष का सुख प्रदान करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, लौकिक सुख देने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वेदान्त-शास्त्र में होने वाले ब्रह्मात्मैक्य साक्षात्कार स्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, कल्याण रूप निष्पाप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और अपने भक्तों को भी निष्पाप बनाकर कल्याण रूप कर देने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥४१॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra, the origin place of happiness, Salutations to Rudra who provides the happiness of enjoyment and salvation, Salutations to Rudra who gives worldly happiness, Salutations to Rudra who is the form of Brahmatmaikya realization in Vedanta-Shastra. Salutations to the sinless Rudra in the form of welfare and salutations to Rudra who transforms his devotees into the form of welfare by making them sinless.41॥
नमः पार्याय चावार्याय च नमः
प्रतरणाय चोत्तरणाय च नमस्तीर्थ्याय
च कल्याय च नमः शष्याय च फेन्याय च॥४२॥
अर्थ- संसार समुद्र के अपर तीर पर रहने वाले अथवा संसारातीत जीवन्मुक्त विष्णुरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, संसारव्यापी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दुःख-पापादि से प्रकृष्ट रूप से तारने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, उत्कृष्ट ब्रह्म-साक्षात्कार कराकर संसार से तारने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, तीर्थस्थलों में प्रतिष्ठित रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गंगा आदि नदियों के तटपर विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गंगा आदि नदियों के तट पर उत्पन्न रहने वाले कुशांकुरादि बाल तृण रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और जल के विकार स्वरूप फेन में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्रके लिये नमस्कार है॥४२॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who lives on the edge of the ocean of the world or in the form of Vishnu, who is beyond worldly life, Salutations to Rudra who is all over the world, Salutations to Rudra who liberates us from the sins and sorrows, who grants us salvation from the world by providing excellent Brahma-realization. Salutations to Rudra, Salutations to Rudra who is revered in the places of pilgrimage, Salutations to Rudra who exists on the banks of rivers like Ganga, Salutations to Rudra who is born on the banks of rivers like Ganga, Kushankur etc. And salutations to Rudra who exists in the froth of the distorted form of water.॥42॥
नमः सिकत्याय च प्रवाह्याय च नमः
कि शिलाय च क्षयणाय च नमः कपर्दिने
च पुलस्तये च नम इरिण्याय च प्रपथ्याय च॥४३॥
अर्थ- नदियों की बालुकाओं में होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, नदी आदि के प्रवाह में होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, क्षुद्र पाषाणों वाले प्रदेश के रूप में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, स्थिर जल से परिपूर्ण प्रदेश रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जटा मुकुट धारी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शुभाशुभ देखने की इच्छा से सदा सामने खड़े रहने वाले अथवा सर्वान्तर्यामी स्वरूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, ऊसर भूमि रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और अनेक जनों से संसेवित मार्ग में होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥४३॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra present in the sand of rivers, Salutations to Rudra present in the flow of rivers etc., Salutations to Rudra existing in the form of a region with small stones, Salutations to Rudra in the form of a region full of stable water. Salutations to Rudra wearing the matted crown, salutations to Rudra who always stands in front with the desire to see the good and bad, salutations to Rudra who is omnipresent, salutations to Rudra who is in the form of land, and to Rudra who is seen on the way by many people. नमो व्रज्याय च गोष्ठ्याय च
नमस्तल्प्याय च गेह्याय च नमो हृदय्याय च
निवेष्याय च नमः काट्याय च गह्वरेष्ठाय च॥४४॥
अर्थ- गोसमूह में विद्यमान अथवा व्रज में गोपेश्वर के रूप में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गोशालाओं में रहने वाले गोष्ठ्य रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, शय्या में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, गृह में विद्यमान रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, हृदय में रहने वाले जीव रूपी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, जल के भँवर में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, दुर्ग-अरण्य आदि स्थानों में रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और विषम गिरिगुहा आदि अथवा गम्भीर जल में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥४४॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra who is present in the group of cows or in the form of Gopeshwar in Vraj, Salutations to Rudra in the form of Goshtya who lives in cow sheds, Salutations to Rudra who is present in the bed, Salutations to Rudra who is present in the house. Salutations to Rudra, salutations to Rudra who resides in the heart, salutations to Rudra who resides in the whirlpool of water, salutations to Rudra who resides in places like forts, forests etc. and to the one who exists in the dark caverns etc. or deep water. Salutations to Rudra॥44॥
नमः शुष्क्याय च हरित्याय च नमः
पा सव्याय च रजस्याय च नमो लोप्याय
चोलप्याय च नम ऊर्व्याय च सूर्व्याय च॥४५॥
अर्थ- काष्ठ आदि शुष्क पदार्थों में भी सत्तारूप से विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, आई काष्ठ आदि में सत्तारूप से विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, धूलि आदि में विराजमान पांसव्य रूप रुद्रके लिये नमस्कार है, रजोगुण अथवा पराग में विद्यमान रजस्य रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सम्पूर्ण इन्द्रियों के व्यापार की शान्ति होने पर भी अथवा प्रलय में भी साक्षी बनकर रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, बल्वजादि तृण विशेषों में होने वाले उलप्य रूपी रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, बडवानल में विराजमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है और प्रलयाग्नि में विद्यमान रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है॥४५॥
Meaning- Salutation to Rudra present in the form of power even in dry substances like wood, Salutation to Rudra present in power in wood etc., Salutation to the Pansavya form of Rudra present in dust etc., Salutation to the Rajasya form of Rudra present in Rajoguna or pollen. Salutations to Rudra, who remains a witness even when there is peace in the business of all the senses or even in the destruction, salutations to Rudra in the form of Ulapya present in the Balvajadi Trina specials, salutations to Rudra seated in Badwanal and Salutations to Rudra present in the fire of destruction.॥45॥
नमः पर्णाय च पर्णशदाय च नम उद्गुरमाणाय
चाभिघ्नते च नम आखिदते च प्रखिदते
च नम इषुकृद्भयो धनुष्कद्भ्यश्च वो नमो नमो
व: किरिकेभ्यो देवाना हृदयेभ्यो नमो
विचिन्वत्केभ्यो नमो विक्षिणत्केभ्यो नम आनिर्हतेभ्यः॥४६॥
अर्थ- वृक्षों के पत्र रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, वृक्ष-पर्णों के स्वतः शीर्ण होने के काल वसन्त ऋतु रूप रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, पुरुषार्थ परायण रहने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सब ओर शत्रुओं का हनन करने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, सब ओर से अभक्तों को दीन-दुःखी बना देने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, अपने भक्तों के दु:खों से दुःखी होने के कारण दया से आर्द्रहृदय होने वाले रुद्र के लिये नमस्कार है, बाणों का निर्माण करने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धनुषों का निर्माण करने वाले रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, वृष्टि आदि के द्वारा जगत का पालन करने वाले देवताओं के हृदय भूत अग्नि, वायु, आदित्य रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, धर्मात्मा तथा पापियों का भेद करने वाले अग्नि आदि रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है, भक्तों के पाप रोग अमंगल को दूर करने वाले तथा पाप-पुण्य के साक्षी स्वरूप अग्नि आदि रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है और सृष्टि के आदि में मुख्यतया इन लोकों से निर्गत हुए अग्नि, वायु, सूर्य रूप रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है॥४६॥
Meaning- Salutations to Rudra in the leaf form of the trees, Salutations to Rudra in the form of spring when the leaves of the trees automatically shed, Salutations to Rudra who is devoted to efforts, Salutations to Rudra who destroys enemies everywhere. Salutations to Rudra, who makes the non-devotees miserable from all sides, salutations to Rudra, who becomes soft-hearted with compassion due to being saddened by the sufferings of his devotees, salutations to Rudra who makes arrows. Salutations to the Rudras who make bows, salutations to the Rudras in the form of Agni, Vayu, Aditya, the heart ghosts of the gods who maintain the world through rain etc., salutations to the Rudras like Agni who differentiate between righteous souls and sinners. Salutations to the Rudras like Agni who remove the sins, diseases and inauspicious things of the devotees and are the witnesses of sins and virtues and salutations to the Rudras in the form of Agni, Vayu and Surya who mainly emerged from these worlds in the beginning of the creation. 46॥
द्रापे अन्धसस्पते दरिद्र नीललोहित।
आसां प्रजानामेषां पशूनां मा भेर्मा
रोड्मो च नः किंचनाममत्॥४७॥
अर्थ- हे द्रापे (दुराचारियों को कुत्सित गति प्राप्त कराने वाले)! हे अन्धसस्पते (सोमपालक)! हे दरिंद्र (निष्परिग्रह)! हे नीललोहित! हमारी पुत्रादि प्रजाओं तथा गो-आदि पशुओं को भयभीत मत कीजिये, उन्हें नष्ट मत कीजिये और उन्हें किसी भी प्रकार के रोग से ग्रसित मत कीजिये॥४७॥
Meaning- O Drape (the one who makes evildoers achieve evil deeds)! O Andhasapate (Somapalak)! Oh Darindra (Nishparigraha)! Hey Blue! Do not frighten our children, subjects, cattle etc., do not destroy them and do not make them suffer from any kind of disease.47॥
इमा रुद्राय तवसे कपर्दिने क्षयद्वीराय प्र भरामहे मतीः।
यथा शमसद् द्विपदे चतुष्पदे विश्वं पुष्टं ग्रामे अस्मिन्ननातुरम्॥४८॥
अर्थ- जिस प्रकार से मेरे पुत्रादि तथा गौ आदि पशुओं को कल्याण की प्राप्ति हो तथा इस ग्राम में सम्पूर्ण प्राणी पुष्ट तथा उपद्रव रहित हों, इसके निमित्त हम अपनी इन बुद्धियों को महाबली, जटाजूटधारी तथा शूरवीरों के निवास भूत रुद्र के लिये समर्पित करते हैं॥४८॥
Meaning- In order that my sons and other animals like cows get well-being and all the living beings in this village remain healthy and free from trouble, for this we dedicate these intellects of ours to Rudra, the abode of Mahabali, the one wearing the hair of hair and the brave ones. 48॥
या ते रुद्र शिवा तनूः शिवा विश्वाहा भेषजी।
शिवा रुतस्य भेषजी तया नो मृड जीवसे ॥४९॥
अर्थ- हे रुद्र! आपका जो शान्त, निरन्तर कल्याणकारक, संसार की व्याधि निवृत्त करने वाला तथा शारीरिक व्याधि दूर करने का परम औषधि रूप शरीर है, उससे हमारे जीवन को सुखी कीजिये॥४९॥
Meaning- Oh Rudra! Make our lives happy with your body which is peaceful, constantly beneficial, which cures the diseases of the world and is the ultimate medicine to cure physical ailments.॥49॥
परि नो रुद्रस्य हेतिवृणक्तु परि त्वेषस्य दुर्मतिरघायोः।
अव स्थिरा मघवद्भयस्तनुष्व मीढ्वस्तोकाय तनयाय मृड॥५०॥
अर्थ- रुद्र के आयुध हमारा परित्याग करें और क्रुद्ध हुए द्वेषी पुरुषों की दुर्बुद्धि हम लोगों को वर्जित कर दे (अर्थात् उनसे हम लोगों को किसी प्रकार की पीड़ा न होने पाये)। अभिलषित वस्तुओं की वृष्टि करने वाले हे रुद्र ! आप अपने धनुष को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके यजमान-पुरुषों के भय को दूर कीजिये और उनके पुत्र-पौत्रों को सुखी बनाइये॥५०॥
Meaning- May Rudra's weapons forsake us and may the foolishness of angry, spiteful men forbid us (ie, may they not cause us any kind of pain). O Rudra, the one who showers the desired things! You remove the fear of the host men by removing the string from your bow and make their sons and grandsons happy. ॥50॥
मीढुष्टम शिवतम शिवो नः सुमना भव।
परमे वृक्ष आयुधं निधाय कृत्तिं वसान
आ चर पिनाकं बिभ्रदा गहि॥५१॥
अर्थ- अभीष्ट फल और कल्याणों की अत्यधिक वृष्टि करने वाले हे रुद्र! आप हम पर प्रसन्न रहें, अपने त्रिशूल आदि आयुधों को कहीं दूर स्थित वृक्षों पर रख दीजिये, गजचर्म का परिधान धारण करके तप कीजिये और केवल शोभा के लिये धनुष धारण करके आइये॥५१॥
Meaning- O Rudra, the one who gives abundant rain of desired fruits and blessings! May you be pleased with us, keep your weapons like trident etc. on the trees located somewhere far away, do penance wearing the clothes of sheepskin and come with a bow only for the sake of beauty.॥51॥
विकिरिद्र विलोहित नमस्ते अस्तु भगवः।
यास्ते सहस्र हेतयोऽन्यमस्मन्नि वपन्तु ताः॥५२॥
अर्थ- विविध प्रकार के उपद्रवों का विनाश करने वाले तथा शुद्ध स्वरूप वाले हे रुद्र! आपको हमारा प्रणाम है, आपके जो असंख्य आयुध हैं, वे हमसे अतिरिक्त दूसरों पर जाकर गिरें॥५२॥
Meaning- Oh Rudra, who destroys various kinds of troubles and is of pure form! We salute you, may your innumerable weapons fall on others besides us. ॥52॥
सहस्राणि सहस्रशो बाह्वोस्तव हेतयः।
तासामीशानो भगवः पराचीना मुखा कृधि॥५३॥
अर्थ- गुण तथा ऐश्वर्यों से सम्पन्न हे जगत्पति रुद्र! आपके हाथों में हजारों प्रकार के जो असंख्य आयुध हैं, उनके अग्रभागों (मुखों) को हमसे विपरीत दिशाओं की ओर कर दीजिये (अर्थात् हम पर आयुधों का प्रयोग मत कीजिये)॥५३॥
O Lord Rudra, full of wealth, virtues and opulences! There are thousands of types of weapons in your hands, turn their heads towards opposite directions from us (that is, do not use weapons on us)॥53॥
असंख्याता सहस्राणि ये रुद्रा अधि भूम्याम्।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥५४॥
अर्थ- पृथ्वी पर जो असंख्य रुद्र निवास करते हैं, उनके असंख्य धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हम लोग हजारों कोसों के पार जो मार्ग है, उस पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥५४॥
Meaning- We unstring the innumerable bows of the innumerable Rudras who reside on earth, and we take them to the path beyond thousands of kosas and cast them.॥54॥
अस्मिन् महत्यर्णवे ऽन्तरिक्षे भवा अधि।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥५५॥
अर्थ- मेघ मण्डल से भरे हुए इस महान् अन्तरिक्ष में जो रुद्र रहते हैं, उनके असंख्य धनुषों को प्रत्यंचारहित करके हम लोग हजारों कोसों के पारस्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥५५॥
Meaning- We unstring the innumerable bows of Rudra who resides in this great space filled with clouds, and we take him to the path beyond thousands of miles.॥55॥
नीलग्रीवा: शितिकण्ठा दिव रुद्रा उपश्रिताः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि ॥५६॥
अर्थ- जिनके कण्ठ का कुछ भाग नील वर्ण का है और कुछ भाग श्वेत वर्ण का है तथा जो धुलोक में निवास करते हैं, उन रुद्रों के असंख्य धनुषों को प्रत्यंचारहित करके हमलोग हजारों कोस दूर स्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं ॥५६॥
Meaning- We unstring the innumerable bows of those Rudras whose throats are partly blue and partly white and who reside in the earth, and place them on a road thousands of miles away. ॥56॥
नीलग्रीवा: शितिकण्ठाः शर्वा अधः क्षमाचराः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥५७॥
अर्थ- कुछ भाग में नीलवर्ण और कुछ भाग में शुक्लवर्ण के कण्ठ वाले तथा भूमि के अधोभाग में स्थित पाताललोक में निवास करने वाले रुद्रों के असंख्य धनुषों को प्रत्यंचारहित करके हमलोग हजारों कोस दूर स्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥५७॥
Meaning - We unstring the innumerable bows of Rudra, who is partly blue in color and partly white in color and who resides in the underworld located beneath the earth, and take them to a road thousands of miles away.॥57॥
ये वृक्षेषु शष्पिञ्जरा नीलग्रीवा विलोहिताः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥५८॥
अर्थ- बाल तृण के समान हरित वर्ण के तथा कुछ भाग में नील वर्ण एवं कुछ भाग में शुक्ल वर्ण के कण्ठ वाले, जो रुधिर रहित रुद्र (तेजोमय शरीर रहने से उन शरीरों में रक्त और मांस नहीं रहता) हैं, वे अश्वत्थ आदि के वृक्षों पर रहते हैं। उन रुद्रों के धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हम लोग हजारों कोसों के पारस्थित मार्ग पर डाल देते हैं॥५८॥
Meaning- Those who are bloodless Rudras (there is no blood and flesh in their bodies due to having a bright body), having a green color like hair grass, blue color in some part and throat of white color in some part, they are from the trees of Ashvattha etc. Live on. By removing the strings of those Rudra bows, we place them on the path beyond thousands of miles.॥58॥
ये भूतानामधिपतयो विशिखासः कपर्दिनः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥५९॥
अर्थ- जिनके सिर पर केश नहीं हैं, जिन्होंने जटाजूट धारण कर रखा है और जो पिशाचों के अधिपति हैं, उन रुद्रों के धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हम लोग हजारों कोसों के पारस्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं ॥५९॥
Meaning- Those who have no hair on their head, who are wearing Jatajut and who are the lords of the demons, we remove the bows of those Rudras from the string and put them on the path beyond thousands of miles. ॥59॥
ये पथां पथिरक्षय ऐलबृदा आयुर्युधः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥६०॥
अर्थ- अन्न देकर प्राणियों का पोषण करने वाले, आजीवन युद्ध करने वाले, लौकिक-वैदिक मार्ग का रक्षण करने वाले तथा अधिपति कहलाने वाले जो रुद्र हैं, उनके धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हम लोग हजारों कोसों के पारस्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥६०॥
Meaning- We remove the bows of Rudra, the one who nourishes the living beings by giving them food, who fights lifelong, who protects the worldly-Vedic path and who is called the ruler, and put them on the path across thousands of miles. ॥60॥
ये तीर्थानि प्रचरन्ति सृकाहस्ता निषङ्गिणः।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि ॥६१॥
अर्थ- वज्र और खड्ग आदि आयुधों को हाथ में धारण कर जो रुद्र तीर्थो पर जाते हैं, उनके धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हमलोग हजारों कोसों के पारस्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥६१॥
Meaning- Those who go to Rudra Tirtha with weapons like thunderbolt and sword etc. in their hands, we take their bows without strings and put them on the path located thousands of miles away.॥61॥
येऽन्नेषु विविध्यन्ति पात्रेषु पिबतो जनान्।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥६२॥
अर्थ- खाये जाने वाले अन्नों में स्थित जो रुद्र अन्नभोक्ता प्राणियों को पीड़ित करते हैं (अर्थात् धातु वैषम्य के द्वारा उन में रोग उत्पन्न करते हैं) और पात्रों में स्थित दुग्ध आदि में विराजमान जो रुद्र उनका पान करने वाले लोगों को (व्याधि आदिके द्वारा) कष्ट देते हैं, उनके धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित करके हमलोग हजारों कोस दूर स्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥६२॥
Meaning- The Rudra present in the food grains which are eaten causes suffering to the food consuming creatures (i.e. they cause diseases in them due to the imbalance of metals) and the Rudra present in the milk etc. present in the vessels causes suffering to the people who drink them (through disease etc.). They give trouble, we take their bows without strings and cast them on a road thousands of miles away.॥62॥
य एतावन्तश्च भूया सश्च दिशो रुद्रा वितस्थिरे।
तेषा सहस्रयोजनेऽव धन्वानि तन्मसि॥६३॥
अर्थ- दसों दिशाओं में व्याप्त रहने वाले जो अनेक रुद्र हैं, उनके धनुषों को प्रत्यंचारहित करके हमलोग हजारों कोस दूर स्थित मार्ग पर ले जाकर डाल देते हैं॥६३॥
Meaning- We unstring the bows of the many Rudras who are present in the ten directions and cast them on a road thousands of miles away.॥63॥
नमोऽस्तु रुद्रेभ्यो ये दिवि येषां वर्षमिषवः।
तेभ्यो दश प्राचीर्दश दक्षिणा दश
प्रतीचीशोदीचीर्दशोर्ध्वाः।
तेभ्यो नमो अस्तु ते नोऽवन्तु ते नो मृडयन्तु ते
यं द्विष्मो यश्च नो द्वेष्टि तमेषां जम्भे दध्मः॥६४॥
अर्थ- जो रुद्र धुलोक में विद्यमान हैं तथा जिन रुद्रों के बाण वृष्टि रूप हैं, उन रुद्रों के लिये नमस्कार है। उन रुद्रों के लिये पूर्व दिशा की ओर दसों अँगुलियाँ करता हूँ, दक्षिण की ओर दसों अँगुलियाँ करता हूँ, पश्चिम की ओर दसों अँगुलियाँ करता हूँ, उत्तर की ओर दसों अँगुलियाँ करता हूँ और ऊपर की ओर दसों अँगुलियाँ करता हूँ (अर्थात् हाथ जोड़कर सभी दिशाओं में उन रुद्रों के लिये प्रणाम करता हूँ)। वे रुद्र हमारी रक्षा करें और वे हमें सुखी बनायें। वे रुद्र जिस मनुष्य से द्वेष करते हैं, हमलोग जिससे द्वेष करते हैं और जो हमसे द्वेष करता है, उस पुरुष को हमलोग उन रुद्रों के भयंकर दाँतों वाले मुख में डालते हैं (अर्थात् वे रुद्र हमसे द्वेष करने वाले मनुष्य का भक्षण कर जायँ)॥६४॥

For those Rudras, I point ten fingers towards the east, I point ten fingers towards the south, I point ten fingers towards the west, I point ten fingers towards the north and I point ten fingers towards the top (i.e. with folded hands I point in all directions) I bow down to those Rudras). May that Rudra protect us and make us happy. The person whom those Rudras hate, we hate and who hates us, we put that person in the mouth of those Rudras with terrible teeth (that is, those Rudras should eat the person who hates us). 64.
